Trust & Estates Paralegal

Location: Del Mar Heights / Carmel Valley, San Diego, CA
Work Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote after training)
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week | 9:00 AM start
Salary Range: $70,000-$100,000 (DOE)
Position Type: Direct Hire

A well-established and collaborative law firm in North County San Diego is expanding its Trust & Estates practice and seeking an experienced Trust & Estates Paralegal to join its growing team. This is an addition to the team due to continued growth and increased client demand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support attorneys with probate, estate planning, and trust administration matters
  • Prepare, file, and manage court documents, including e-filing
  • Draft and record real property documents
  • Assist with trust funding, administration, and distributions
  • Prepare and organize documents for probate proceedings
  • Coordinate with clients, courts, and third parties
  • Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines
  • Assist with Federal Estate Tax Returns (Form 706) and other IRS filings, as applicable

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Trust & Estates paralegal experience
  • ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate or equivalent attestation
  • Strong experience with probate, estate planning, and trust administration
  • Comfortable with e-filing and preparing court filings
  • Experience handling real property documents
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proven team player who works well in a collaborative environment

Preferred / Plus Experience

  • Background working in or closely with a CPA firm
  • Experience preparing or assisting with Federal Estate Tax Returns (Form 706)
  • Familiarity with additional IRS filings related to estates and trusts
